Current publisher, the Jefferson County Courier owned by David and Jan Anderson, bought the Monitor in March 2002. In 2007, the Monitor was awarded the prestigious Thomas Dimsdale Sweepstakes Award, emblematic of being the best weekly or small daily newspaper published in Montana that year.

S. addresses outside Montana. Send your payment and mailing address to: Boulder Monitor, PO Box 66, Boulder, MT, 59632.  Back copies also available for sale.

We are a very hard-working staff that enjoys being together, and it shows in our work. We are dedicated to bringing our readers the news that matters in Jefferson County, and our efforts have been rewarded by numerous awards over the years. Editor Jan Anderson was awarded the Master Editor & Publisher award this year. This prestigious award honored her exceptional career in journalism.

Most recently, the Boulder Monitor won 17 awards, including first place awards for Best Single House Ad, Best Multi-Sponsor ROP Ads, Best Agricultural Issues Reporting, and Best Justice System Issues Reporting, from the Montana Newspaper Association’s Better Newspaper Contest. In addition, the paper was awarded the Freedom of Information Award, a prize presented each year to one newspaper in the state, including weeklies and dailies, emblematic of exceptional work in serving the public’s right to know.

We reach over 3200 readers a week and cover news throughout central and northern Jefferson County and have subscribers in every community in the area, including Boulder, Basin, Elk Park, Clancy, Jefferson City, and Montana City.

We rely on the support of our readers and local businesses and advertisers and work hard to reciprocate. We see our missions as one of knitting together our communities while making sure everyone has the information needed to reach decisions that best serve us all.

By subscribing, you support us in continuing our work, both on the website and in the newspaper hard copy, and you receive stories and photos that do not appear on the website. Please do yourself and us a favor by subscribing today.

We would also be happy to help you with your advertising needs, both on the web and in the hard copy of the paper. Please contact us for information and see our Media Guide for additional information.
